Hello;
My name is Adam Lewis and I like to help people understand mathematics.
If you live in Toronto I do one on one tutoring in Mathematics from high school up to and including first year university or any college level courses. I don’t always have spaces available for any new students so inquiries should be made before it is an emergency. Although I enjoy tutoring, it is not how I focus my time so I really do recommend approaching me for the service well before any academic deadlines loom.
That said, I enjoy the tutoring so much I really don’t intend to stop taking students no matter how busy the rest of my work life gets. Seeing someone get an insight in what they are doing and actually seeing the beauty of math as opposed to just thinking it’s a subject they need to pass is one of the biggest rewards I could ask for.
Beyond that I also like programming in Python. At present I’m working in Python 3.4 as I find it’s the best version of the language for how I think released so far. I write all sorts of odd little applications for myself but write a lot of tools for mathematical concept and systems visualizations. As a result I spend a long time thinking about how to communicate some very abstract visual ideas in as clear a set of images as possible. I’m available for freelance coding or for consulting on visualization of complex systems or large data sets.
I have some other projects on the go, and hope I can talk about those soon as well.
